質問書（英訳文）

第2章に記述した質問事項の英訳文を、今後の利用等も想定されるため、ここに収録する。質問は、予備調査の段階では事務局の仮訳で、その後は翻訳業者に発注した英文で問合せ先に送付した。送付状の記述、表現は発送の時点により若干異なるが、ここでは代表例のみ載せる。カナダ国運輸省あて質問は米国コーストガードあて質問と殆ど同文であるので省略した。

なお、「船舶検査制度」をここでは”Ship inspection system”と訳しているが、これは先方からの回答を見ると”SyStem”よりも”program”が適切であったと思われる。この英文の利用に当たっては、このような適当でない訳文も多々あるであろうことをご了解願いたい。

［質問書送付状の例文］

The Association is an organization to contribute to the rationalization of the ship inspection by achieving the research and examination on the quality control method,etc. for manufactureing and repairing the equipment for ship use.

We are studying a few examples of the inspection systems for the equipment for ship use in U.S.A. and Canada this year.

Transactions in the world trade are increased in recent years to obtain inexpensive product of excellent quality,and it is expected that the trade will continue to be gradually increased. At the same time, consideration to the safety and environmental issues will be further requested. For this purpose,it is believed more and more important to understand the standards requested in each country and each area,and its purport.

We summarize the questionnaires as attached so as to extensively undestand the standards to be required for ships and equipment for ship use,the method for the tests and inspection,the procedure to obtain the certification, etc.
